The MI28 seems to be superior for pounding ground
The cobra seems superior to defeating the MI28

The cobra can outclimb the mi28
The cobra pilot can be less acommodating to the gunner since the cobra missile can fly up into the sky --> gunner doesn't need to have the mi28 ship centered in the tv screen.
Cobra chopper spawns at least 5-10 seconds faster than mi28
Cobra missiles converge to crosshairs letting all the missiles hit the mi28 while the mi28 flies parallel that don't converge to crosshair
Cobra has a thinner profile when viewed headon

I've gotten pretty good with mi28 in both gunner and pilot position, but i've concluded that you need 2 GOOD players in mi28 when you only need 1 GOOD and 1 avg player in cobra. Discuss...

Cobra is the best for helicopter dogfighting. Three reasons:

1) Slim, very hard to hit, and a screwy hitbox that frequently results in missiles going right through it
2) A working TV missile (compared to the borked one in the Mi-28)
3) Fastest climb rate and wicked agility

Depends on the situtaion of course. The Mi-28 is overpowered and I can't believe DICE hasn't fixed this yet.

The Mi-28 is designed for Anti-Ground purposes. Mostly infantry.

The Cobra on the otherhand is a bit better against ALL vehicles. It's more agile, has a better TV guided missle, and has a tighter missle pattern. As long as ya' keep the choppers within' the respectable "Comfort Zone" they are both pretty evenly matched.

If you can line up for a shot from the Mi28s cannon, the Cobra is toast. That's a pretty big *if* though.

All I can say is from my experience Ive downed three cobras in a row with Mi-28 being a gunner..the thing is Mi-28 has the most powerfull cannon...as long as two choppers keep on strafing the cannon decides the outcome of the battle...

the mi 28 chain gun can make bits of the cobra if the pilot knows what he is doing - its fairly balanced tbh

I was suprised at how week the apaches 30mm gun was, I thought it would at least be as powerfull as the mi28s.

when it comes right down to it, the winner of a chopper it the one that can use the tv guide. the cannon is a secondary weapon like the rockets are. im not saying that you should not use it, but i am saying the tv guide should always be used first during heli fights, and then cannon as tvguide reloads.

I beg to differ. The MI-28 is a very versitle and deadly all-around chopper, more so then the Cobra. I am very proficient in both, and as long as I have a good gunner (when I pilot) or a good pilot (when I'm gunning) there are very few instances in which I am shot down by an apposing helicopter.

Shoot2kill yes but you confirmed my original post by saying you need 2 good players in mi28. The cobra really only needs 1. If you are a good pilot you can stay above and dodge. If you are a good gunner then you can nail the mi28 with the missile even if the pilot doesn't do a good job of lining you up.

Anyone know in 1.2 patch if the mi28 missile will respond to clicks to sky?

I cando stunts with the Cobra that I cant do in the MI28, mostly the biggest stunt I can do without too much worry of crashing is taking it upside down in a loop.

The MI28 seems like I cant get the lift once Ive completed the loop, and end up crashing all the time when I try it.

This is of course on a server by myself while I try to "train" in helicopter and plane flight. Still cant master the plane at all with mouse and keyboard, and dont have the cash for the x52 joystick I want.

The Havoc is pretty much screwed by the Cobra if you fly without a copilot.

A Cobra can put up a fight with only one pilot against the Havoc with two pilots.

Yeah the cobra is better than the MI28 in the air 1v1. On the ground the cobra can also be pretty good. The MI28s missle spread is really large and it's a hog. AT can hit it easy. If you have a good gunner in the cobra you can kill almost as well as a co-pilot in the MI28. After the MI28 TV nerf it is actually pretty worthless.
