Some solid skills there but most of those chopper pilots you were up against didn't seem to know a whole lot about dodging.
A head-on jet shot is only regularly possible with a good connection and fast framerate and more often than not is a case of luck.
Real skill is flying up the back end of the jet with the TV missile as he flies by :)

Other than that would say your gunner misses too much, especially against ground targets. You shouldn't really miss much more than once or twice an hour against anything other than a jeep (which isn't worth firing at anyway) or APC at full speed downhill going laterally.

But then I will always be critical unless he can match up to the best.

He's good, but he 'aint 'fiddy :evil:


Good shot lining up by you btw, that can't be ignored. Nice video too though a first person Fraps shoot is always going to be more instructional than entertaining.

I enjoyed it though :)

to treefiddy, thx for the reply ill ask you to read my whole first post on this thread again you will see somthin about us not claiming to be "THE SH1T" = the best, and i doubt we would run across the best other helicopter duo's out there in pub servers over a 2 day filming basis. and for him missing to much i say he does damn good on all low settings except for geometry and viewing distance 100% and i find your post very cavalier without your own video.

He he he. I simply said what I did because it's a fact, not becuase I wanted to denegrate your skills.
Making a video entirely in fraps is fine, just that it will leave you open to comparison with the people who watch it since they watch it from the same perspective that you did

Your (and gunners) skills? Very good. I wouldn't comment if they weren't. But facts are facts, 120 hours and my pilot and I have never once been bettered and I go for rounds at a time without missing - think of my comments as friendly smack-talk. If you find them threatening, then they are not meant to be. Just fact

To be honest if we (my pilot and I) had managed to get 2 whole days of filming in on pub servers at the frame rates you managed... well let's just say I wouldn't have had to scrabble round for the footage I did. We got three incomplete rounds totalling about 25 minutes play between 15 and 20 fps the whole time which wasn't ideal.

But then my video was never really meant to be a 'look how good our skills are' (not that I am saying that is what yours is, just that it can be taken as such).

To be honest, there's probably only one or two shots on there that I would consider reasonable but as soon as I pressed F9 to start fraps I knew it wouldn't be about making shots.


So perhaps it was not all that cavalier of me even though my video is was patently not about skill (other than that of the editing perhaps).

There really is only one way to guage skill and it's nothing to do with videos.

Not at all! I did come on your thread and basically say I was better than your gunner! Even if it was brazen smack-talk it's still a bit rude!

Regardless, I did like your vid. Always fun to see chopper poonage - and once 1.2 is released, we'll be happy we have a record of it given the gunships will be nerfed :cry:

ha, i hope they give helicopters less hp and i dont care about the tv missiles so much we mostly just shoot what we can see and dont do much scouting ahead with them. hopefully everybody crys about the helicopter so there wont be a line waiting for them on every server we join and i dont have to red-line as many fools that refuse to bailout after ive spammed it (i like giving them a choice long swim back or you can die :p )

eh, just watched it. Nothing too impressive except for the plane at the end. I've done it before but its hard. The tv missles missed a little much and werent that hard of shots. I think if I were to make a video I wouldn't put in my missed shots =P The pilot set the gunner up really nicely so he didnt need to turn the missle much. But, definitly no noob gunner. I've seen people who don't even know how to get into camera mode lmao.

I used to be a gunner for a kickass crew like the one you had, and I've never actully seen the missiles I've fired from the pilot view. When we first started working together I'd always here excited "BAM!"'s from him and I always wondered what he saw. After awhile it became a "Did you just miss?!?!" kind of thing. I've made some of the mistakes you have, but soon your easy misses will be a thing of the past. Don't ever lose the magic of the beginning of a good crew, and thanks for letting me see what he saw.

Unfortunately those days seem to be behind me. If ya'll ever see pipsqueak playing on kubra dam, tell him I still love him and to come home.
