Just wondering how much physical memory free if you look it up from the task manager? I have around 1,2gb and I do get a little stutter in BF2 sometimes, and I think I have heard that BF2 can peak up to 1,3gb? So would it help some of the extra stutter if I got 2gb of RAM total?

Yes. More physical memory will always help as it will rely less on your virtual memory (swap file) thus reducing stutter.Comment

It makes sense; Windows uses about 300MB, so 1500 - 300 = 1200MB or 1.2GB :)Originally posted by ptegan

Everything on high? What resolution - I'm assuming 1280x960(or 1024)?
It's a good chance that BF2 is using about 1.2GB, and with Windows using 300MB, your pagefile will be accessed more than necessary (which causes slowdowns/stuttering). Getting 2GB would most likely help in your case.
Also, what kind of memory configuration do you have? Specifically brand and type (are they all the exact same sticks), total RAM slots, slots in use, timings and speed.Comment
