Ok so i have a new computer with the following

    amd64 x2 4400+
a8n32-SLI dexluxe motherboard with nforce 4 chip
evga nvidia 7800 GT 256mc pci express
    2048 ram

so when i was first trying to install it worked fine...but it installed fine but the failed to patch. So i tried installign and reinstalling a few times to no work.My problem now is that the game will not install right. It seems i get to disk 2 and it gets to the saem spot everytime and then tells me to start over. Ive tried with 2 differnet sets of disks.

it get the error at this point songhua_stalemate\client.zip

tells me to try installing fromt he beginning.Ive tried everything.Completely removing the game,I even tried copy a working BF2 off my old computer but it causes me to crash when i try to load mulitplayer\singleplayer games.
any help would be awesome. This machine has no problem installign and playign anything else.FEAR,HL2,Couterstrike...i mean wtf.

    Re: help installing

For some reason, EA games dont like to be installed with programs running in the background. if you havent already I would suggest you use the MSconfig to turn off everything under your startup, reboot the computer and try the install again.

OK BF2 is now now installed...seems you have to use all matching disks for it to work properly. But now i am afraid to patch for fear that i will get that patch failed error then BF2 will be fubar...you think if i copied my old working files off my old computer onto my new one then over right the files which are patched it would work fine??
