Saving unlocks for the booster pack?

Okay, I did a quick search through the forums for this type of question/answer, but was unable to find it....

I have one unlock left and I've been holding onto it just in case they added new sniper/AT kits in a patch. Well, it sounds like I may get a chance to use the unlock on something more appealing to me. However, I am still wondering, are there going to be any unlocks given as part of the patch or booster packs?

I don't think anyone knows if the booster weapons will be available as unlocks in regular BF2, or if the boosters will have unlocks within themselves. My guess is no on both counts.

I expect that if the booster packs did include new unlockable weapons they would also give you new slots just like SF did. The new sniper/AT unlocks will be in the 1.2 patch.

It's only a guess, but I believe they will give us free ranks this time again.
They are introducing new higher ranks for the upcoming patch.
Free ranks might mean a unlock or two.
I'd wait to be sure.

Supposebly they are coming out with the patch, but my guess is that the patch and booster pack will be released on the same day. Unlocks will be P90 for Anti tank and The L96AW (AWP) for sniper.

ive got 2 saved for both the new ones ib the patch!i saved them because its gunna be a LONG time befor next rank,

Thanks for all of the replies! After thinking about it a little, I remembered how they handled the introduction of ranks last time and I agree with BLAH... They'll probably give us a freebie rank or unlock due to the new higher ranks. At any rate, I'm going to hold onto my unlock for another month or so until I get a chance to see some of the guns in action.

i guess the sniper and the anti tank could be unlocks but im not really sure

the booster packs will offer no unlocks, the guns u see are for booster pack use only.

on the other side, when the next patch comes out there will be 2 new unlocks one for the sniper and one for the anti tank, but those are sf unlocks.
