    what determines...

what determines my max settings for enjoyable play? My vid card? RAM? ..or a little of all?

Just wondering, what the desired settings on a GeForce 6800 vanila with 2 gig of RAM would be for the vid. I know I wont be able to run all high, but wondering what sounds like a reasonable settings.

It's really user preference, but you should be able to play all MED fairly ok.

Just keep dynamic lights and shadows on low to medium, and I'll bet you can play with most everything else on high with 2XAA at 1024x768. (or settings on medium at 1280x1024)

I have same spec (6800GT + 2GB). I run 1280x1024, everything on medium, apart from dynamic light and shadows both set to low. 2x AA. Get very good fps performance.

I would be interested however if you get the same issues as me with textures disappearing and being replaced with black.

        Thanks,

Just for your comparison i run BF2 @ 1600x1200 with all details maxed & 4xAA, i average around 60-100fps & boy does it look & play sweet.

Well nice to see someone's gaining the "extra" power out from the SLI!

how does that help as a comparison

unless you start the statement with "If you spend another couple of grand on your machine, then...."

Yeah your SLI setup is a very useful comparison (I was being sarcastic by the way).

Well obviously your hardware determines your max settings, hence my post sonny.

Exactly! "what determines my max settings for enjoyable play"

How is your expensive SLi settings and gameplay experience helping this guy set up his 6800 adapter for him to enjoy the game. Sonny.

Maybe this guy is just asking for help to set up his 6800, maybe he's looking to spend a ton of cash on his machine to get the best possible experience - either way, your post just sounded boastful and unhelpful... much like the people that respond "works ok for me!", when someone asks for some advice fixing a problem. :)

The second line of the post...
" Just wondering, what the desired settings on a GeForce 6800 vanila with 2 gig of RAM would be for the vid."
... suggest maybe he wasn't interested in your hardware, or how well you can play the game.
