Europeans vs MEC and China
In Operation Smoke Screen, the MEC and EU battle over a bombed out oil refinery, where a thick cloud of smoke blankets the center of the map making it especially difficult for jets and helicopters to identify targets on the ground. Taraba Quarry is another MEC vs. EU battle, where the fighting is centered around an old dam and quarry site. With these two levels, we've tried to bring back the large scale open warfare that made Battlefield 1942 so popular, with lots of tanks and a variety of ground and air vehicles to choose from.
The Great Wall of China is an EU vs. Chinese battle, relying on ground combat to create good choke point fighting within an enclosed area of the Great Wall. This map has a great mix of vehicle and infantry action, with intense fighting both around and on top of the wall itself. The 16 player version of the Great Wall features an EU paradrop over the wall itself, and the firefights that ensue are just incredible!Comment

Special Forces only. The booster packs are going to be independent of Vanilla BF2 and SF. Which means the booster weapons will not be in Vanilla BF2.Comment

How disappointing. I was hoping to see some IRA (don't clip me on plausibility, I want my Irish boys in there!) or maybe some German terrorists or whatever else you could dream up. I'm sick of seeing the MEC/PLA loadout of weapons. SO LAZY.Comment

If the game has to be restated like with SF each time I won't be buying them. Restarting for SF isn't too bad since there are quite a few maps but to restart the game for 3 new maps would be stupid.Comment

I think it's the general consensus of folks in other threads that the booster packs will operate just like RtR and SW did for BF42. The maps will be in the full rotation and if you don't have the pack you'll get bumped from the server when the booster maps come up.
Otherwise you'll end up with servers running a rotation of 3 maps.Comment
