latency problems in BF2

hey guys im new to these forums... and i have a problem

all the servers i see on the brower are 250+ (even the ones in Seattle, where i live), even though i have cable internet connection. is there any way i can fix this?

Has it always been like that? If not, what does the ping change to when you click on one of those servers, and does your ping stay at ~250 when playing on one of them?

The in-game server browser sucks. I always get crazy pings with it.

no, it hasnt always been like that. infact, the pings were great when i bought the retail version (v1.0), but when i installed the latest patch (v1.12) i get supre-high ping, and when i click on the server, it sometimes goes up, instead of down. and yes, i get the same ping in a server as on the browser. also, some people on the other forums are saying that my cable internet connection is VERY slow for a cable connection (its a 386kbps charter digital cable connection) and im paying 60 a month for it. could this be one of the problems?

Its THE problem, thats a VERY slow connection for cable, your provider probably throttles the bandwidth during peak periods too which means it gets even slower, you're paying waaay too much as well, start lokkin for a new provider FAST!
