Bullet hole decals in cockpit glass?

When somebody shoots at an aircraft's cockpit with, say an MP5 or M95, shouldn't glass decals be visible to the pilot inside? When I played BF2 for the first time on a brand new computer of mine it worked once and was very cool. Any way to get it working if it's not?

Whilst in an APC the other day I took a direct hit to the drivers viewing port. A mark appeared on the glass where the round struck.

Decals are only visible on the gunners side of a window. Try single player mode - shoot at the windshield of a HMMWV and then look at it through the back. The reason why you see decals in tank/apc viewport is because your "eyes" are attached to the surcface of the vehicle and there is no glass or something in between.
(See the block-the-view-with-C4 topic for some nice images ... im too lazy to search for that one )
