    Newbie VoIP question...

It will be obvious that I know little to nothing about VoIP...

I did searches for the answer under the keywords "skype' and "voip" and did not find any.

Can I use Skype, or a similar program, while paying BF2?

I ask because the built-in VoIP feature requires players to press some letter before speaking. Also, using my land line is too expensive.

So if a buddy and me are playing BF2, can we talk to one another using Skype?

    Thanks in advance...

Yes, you may notice a slight decrease in performance though as more system resources will be used. I recommend something like TeamSpeak or RogerWilco or Ventrillo. All of these programs are Voice Over programs that are seperate from any game.

I wouldn't recommend Skype as it is not going to be as resource friendly as a VOIP app designed for gaming like Roger Wilco, Ventrilo, or TeamSpeak.

Plus..Skype is only 1 on 1. You can get a whole squad of friends together on the other ones.

I use an ANCIENT (ancienct by today's standards) app called GameVoice by Microsoft. It came with a nice little USB device for changing channels, muting, etc.
