    NEW framerate fix!!!!!

I just got my new issue of Computer Gaming World, which is a great magazine, and they reviewed BF2: Special Forces. It got a 2 out of 5 but they also included a framerate fix. This is what it said:

"Sick of stuttering drames and slide-show performance? first find VideoDefault.con in your C:\ProgramFiles\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\bf2\settings directory. Once there, open VideoDefault.con in Notepad and change renderer.allowAllRefreshRates 0 to renderer.allowAllRefreshRates 1. Finally, select save."

I tried this and it worked! I got almost 5-10 more fps!

Sorry in advance if this has already been posted.

I seriously doubt it. The minimum refresh rate would be 60 Hz which would translate to a maximum FPS rate of 60 fps assuming you had have VSYNC enabled. (If disabled, it's all irrelevant.) Your setting would just allow for 65 Hz, 70 Hz, 72 Hz, etc.

If you saw an increase, then you were already at your maximum, and to be blunt, if you were already at 60 fps, then you had no frame rate problem.

This has been mentioned numerous times here on this forum...some people find it works. So it CERTAINLY isn't new

I say, go for it. I changed mine and it didn't help me any. But my problems are specific to piloting attack choppers.

      It certainly won't hurt anything.

I remember back in BFV, if you DIDN'T have this value set to '1' a lot of people were getting CTDs...
