since when has anyone had to pay for patches?, and are you still playin BF2 ver 1.0000?%^£,?
is it my fault the game did play perfectly OR well for the first time?
If i pay for something i expect it to work.

True, however, this still doesn't justify bashing EA for making you pay for a booster pack. Also, the definition of work is rather arbitrary. I mean, the game didn't say on the box "bunny hopping and n00b tube free".

No one's had to pay for patches (probably if you did you'd need to call them something else), but there have been incidents where the team who made the game split up right after its release, and people never got any patches (I think that happened with Tribes 2). Also, conventional or not, they still are making these patches for free. I mean, have you ever given money to homeless person on the street and heard them say "WTF!? 5 dollars!? The other guy gave me 10! You selfish capitalist pig!"

I agree that people expect way too much for free simply because they've been inconvenienced. I think the game's suffered from a lot of faults unfortunately, but it has more positive than negative gameplay experience. Ever since TotalBF2 added the section where you can send in and ask Dice a question, I've gained a new respect for both this site, MyIS, and Dice. I think a lot of us deserve the right to air our feelings, but yeah, a lot of people go too far. Every company is different and just because UT2004 continues to put out new maps, and HL2 releases some freebies, doesn't mean EA has to. I know I wouldn't; not unless I was releasing them as tests for something in the future that would cost something. It's a buisness first and foremost.

I'm looking forward to hearing about whether the boosters are working. However, if patch 1.2 doesn't make Special Forces more enjoyable, I'm thinking of uninstalling it and selling it to my roomate for like $15. It's not entirely Dice's fault, because I suffer from spikes of low fps in a couple of games (I think my processor is the bottleneck), but even at lower settings than vanilla BF2, I get spikes like that (in single player). Since these are the kinds of games that have no real point (no objective other than immersion), lag really kills the experience.

Looking forward to the new editor though. I just downloaded this one and started fiddling around with it, so it's great timing that while learning, I can do so on a better program. All in all, excited to see what's to come. #1 thing that excites me is that tanks can now shoot through penetratible material... will that mean visual penetration? Probably not, but still good stuff.

People don't even realise what the industry is going through... it is lucrative but hard to be profitable!

Why work on extra material and not make sells out of it!?
Especially when you have customers ready to pay for it.
I just don't understand... but then again I got my degree from a business school :p
