    Crashes at login screen

    hi there

When I try to login on my account on BF2 it freezes when loading up the login screen and all I can do is restart my computer. My housemate's account, however, logs in fine with no problems.

anyone know the reason for this?

Sounds like you have a firewall that is blocking BF2.exe's access to the internet.

    Either:

    a) turn off any and all firewalls (e.g. ZoneAlarm, Symantec Internet Security)
    or
    b) set up permissions for BF2.exe

I don't run a firewall - BF2 was working fine on my account last night, and my mate's account still works fine. makes me think I have been blocked or something? I haven't done anything bad... lol

      thanks for the help

Wow...no idea why it works for one but not another...

I guess there's no harm though in deleting the profiles in /my doc/BF2/
hen reconnect and use the 'retrive account' option to get your account back...

You're both logging onto the computer using the same Windows account, correct?

And then you're both playing BF2 on the SAME computer..but you each have a different BF2 account that you select once you load the game, correct?

              No, that's fine.

I just had to make sure you weren't use TWO separate windows accounts. BF2 doesn't like that.

I think I've found the problem - while visiting my brother's house a few weeks ago I played BF2 pretty extensively on his PC during the day while he was at work - is my account now somehow locked to his PC and can't be accessed from mine? who would I contact to get this corrected? I've talked to EA but they haven't replied yet.

                thanks,
