Looking at the sytems most of you have . I have a older system . My specs are as follows ....

MSI..mobo 8XAgp Knforce
Pny 6600Gt 128 < << Piece of crap .
Xp2800+
1 gig of ram ...

So here is the issue ...I have got all the way up to Master Sgt. in the game playing on this system ... In the last 2 weeks my system locks up . I mean hard lock nothing works it just freezes ....So I did the following .


Reinstalled
Updated PB
updated Bios
updated Nvidia drivers


I also tried shutting all my programs off in the background

I can't think what updated on my computer to cause this sudden issue. I can'T play the damn game at all now . It freezes every time I try . The game loads I play for 2 minutes and it freezes .

I am thinking maybe a mem leak?

any ideas from you really smart people would help .....

does it freeze for good, or just temporarily? waht do u see when it freeze (blue screen of death?)

also ur system should be fine to play bf2 (6600gt is a decent card)
since i have no experience with this, my guess (but u can wait for other responses from other ppl) is that u overclocked ur video card to make it run better, so now its over heating, because overheating does cause large applications to freeze up and stutter a lot

well to make you feel better...Ive gotten all the way to Corporal in the past 2 weeks with my specs...But I dont get freezes or BSOD, just lag once in awhile.

1.4Ghz AMD Athlon
1.5GB PC133 RAM
ATI Radeon 9200 128MB (AGP)
Gigabyte Mobo (forgot the model)
350 watt PSU

New system is on the hands of UPS and Fedex as we speak........

also, 1 gig of ram is pretty good (its like average) so u may get stutters in the beginning of the game. i think that since u have a 6600gt, u r playing wth high settings for video settings, but the 6600gt isnt THAT good. try setting down some options like: textures, dynamic watever, lighting, AA, texture filtering

also look trhough some optimizations guides for ur vid card if u want more performance and u can try 3rd party video drives by xtremeG

Well,I am running on Medium across the bored .

Put my clock speeds back to normal(got me there)


Still locks up . It is so strange that this just started up out of the blues . Logic says it was a update . But i didnt update anything ....I don't have norton running nor do I have windows update running .

Oh, also the game just locks ...no blue screen . I have to hit reset to get my computer back online . Its like when a fire wall stops a program it cuts its communication to the internet and in turn it freezes said application . But I have no firewall or router .......and not to mention I been playing for 5 months straight no issues .....SO BOOOO TO WTF WEVER is causing this!

Have you checked the temps? Sounds like some sort of warning for your GPU or something.
