And another Tank Whore is born...

Last night a buddy of mine dropped by for a visit. He has BF2, but his home computer isn't up to snuff and his work comp can't hook up to multiplayer. So I let him play on mine for awhile.

He was doing alright, but not great. Since he hasn't played much on-line he doesn't know much about the tricks 'n tactics of various maps.

Anyway, he's playing on Kark (MEC) when I mention that their tank had spawned at the Gatehouse, but none of his teammates were going to be bright enough to grab it before some sneaky USMC dude. He moans about how little he likes playing armour, but sees my point and grabs it.

Off to the front he goes. 17 kills later he's grinning like an idiot. He finally get's blown up and goes back to the gatehouse. I mention all he has to do is stand where the tank spawns, hold E, and he'll get it again.

    An Armour Whore is born.

    I'm sorry.
    :p

Unless they find it out for themselves.

Hey, team vehicle whores are alright- they're just playing the game the way they prefer it :P.
And it's good, because vehicle/aircraft theft is not only a problem... it's a strategy. USE YOUR VEHICLES DAMMIT! - I was commander once, and I managed to send out 2 squads primarily for stealing vehicles when they get the chance and keep them for as long as they can (or hide them somewhere a bit too far out of reach)- not only it helped credit a lot of kills to them, my tactic resulted in the whole opposition having to operate on foot for a while- leaving them vulnerable to the double number of vehicles and aircraft we had acquired. Their commander wasn't the best at adapting to situations either, so we did end up winning by quite a great margin.

I forgot to mention... I also pointed out the best places for him to park that tank in order to spawn camp.

          Yeah, I'm going to hell.
          Oh well.

Why, thanks :). And it worked- but it took about 15 minutes until we all managed to steal most of the vehicles, and we lost some to the process, and had to try and get them back. Towards the end- we actually left the enemy with 1 or 2 light transport vehicles- at which they couldn't be bothered using anymore because we had all their tanks and helicopters :P

Plus- I was actually very very lucky- actually, I would say BLESSED, at the time to have had 2 such cooperative and well spirited squads on my team- most of the others just wanted to do their own thing.

Teamwork is one of the things that makes me love BF2 so. Hey, I even once had a great squadleader who sang to us... kind of an "Oh Sh1t moment", but he was a really good leader who actually looked after his squad.

Works great on Zatar, because the MEC often just hurry for the main island to get the CHOPPAR!1111, and after that they get caught up at the bases they have captured.
So send a squad to sneak around wide, to the Farm, let them capture, then always send them "shopping" at the MEC base.
2 APCs from the Farm + 1 APC + 1 Tank + 1 Tunguska from the MEC base means that even if they get the middle island, the chopper will be in serious trouble if the squad is worth it's pay and the middle island will be in your possession in no time.
Combined with the armor from your own base, that constitutes a nigh unstoppable force.

I love when people call someone a "whore" for utilizing available resources. Its in the game and there to use. Dont call them a "whore" call them a vehicle utilizer and you will see how dumb it was to call them anything...

Its all good. Your team needs the vees and if your in it when it dies you know when its coming back. Its the most efficient way and someone has to do it. I say good for him, unless he wants my tank...

Not to be rude, but what was the point of this thread? To tell us about your friend who happened to kill some people in a tank? I think things like this happen fairly often in the world of BF2.

And it's fun too! going on a mission to steal vehicles and use them! I reckon you should get points for hijacking an enemy vehicle .
Thing is- on Zatar, if you're playing the small map- there's only 1 helicopter anyway.
Funny thing was- a heck of a lot of the opposition left the server when they realised all their vehicles/aircraft were missing (with exception of the 2 light transports). Bunch of wusses who can't take a little hard work to bring themselves back to speed- no wonder the commander gave up.
