Game Not Starting :o

The game is new and all, and I know the drive reads the CD because the menu pops up when you put the CD in, (well, that's why I think it reads it ^.^;
However, the game does not start once you click "play" and such. Any ideas guys? :hmm:

I am also having a lot of trouble. First the #3 CD would not read in one of my drives, then the game would not start (I am on a P4, 1GB RAM, ATI 9800 PRO 128 MB card) all drivers current.)

I seem to be having the same problem. The game loads just fine, but then it wont start. It will start once, it plays just fine, but if I close it, it will not open again. When I click the game on either the Start Menu, the CD startup box, or the icon itslef in My Computer, it shows up in Task Manager under Processes for a few seconds, then disapears.

Rebooting does not work, nor does re-installing. The only thing I have found that works is to delete the Profile files under My Documents, however that only works for a short time, then the same problem continues.

My drivers are all current, and I have the same problem with BF2 1.0 and 1.3.

My system:

AMD Athlon 64 3800+ 2.41GHz
Nvidia GeForce 7300 GS
768 MB RAM
Sound Blaster Live!


1.4 is out, I guess I will try that. If it works, I'll let you know. If not.... Any ideas?

try the bf2.exe in ur directory and make a shortcut out of that

Ok, 1.4 does not help.

Installed 1.4. Start Menu did not open it. CD did not open it. Restarting computer without CD in, then putting CD in didn't work. Finally, going straight to the EA directory did the job. However... I just finished playing a round, then closed the game. Then went to reopen it and nothing. It enters the Processes under Task Manager, then just either disappears, or sits there doing nothing.

Any ideas?
