I found the file, and i changed mine to say "Noob toob" instead of M203... and the command "enemy armor is inbound" to "enemy armor whore is inbound" (most of the time that's more accurate). just some fun...

who knows what the next sniper rifle will be, in my opinion, I kind of am hoping for the unexpected...I mean something different than what we expect (m82a1 for example) Maybe that crazy russian sniper rifle, the one that is silenced and uses weird ammo (anyone that has played rainbow 6 knows which one I am talking about)...or anything different...that is what i am hoping for. I swear though...if it is a g36 varient...I am going to flip...enough with adding a different version of the g36 into the game, I'd like to see a real variety!

Couldn't agree more. I'm sorry but I can't see the M82A1 working. It would have to do the same damage as the M95, but it's semi automatic-- How balanced and retarded is that? Who would use the M95? Just sounds stupid. It won't be the M82. I will give you all $1 through paypal if it is.

And race I wanted to mention that silenced rifle too. The one that uses the subsonic ammunition, and it's somewhat weak but semi-automatic. Sounds like something they should add. Was too lazy to go look it up, but yes, I remember it from my raven shield days.

The G36 variants are somewhat likely even though that's a depressing thought. I hope to god they're done with those.

When will people learn that its not the gun, but the player. People who need a new high tech gun to pwn with total leetness should reassess their skills as a player.

I try to stay away from the semi-automatic sniper rifles. They have their advantages (keeping people from running away after first shot), but I prefer the simple bolt action headshot - and it is much easier to headshot with bolt.

I don't want this gun to be the unlock although I liked the idea of it before.
I'm still hoping for something like the DSR.

I don't see how a silenced sniper rifle would be all that useful except on night maps on SF. Your target should be dead on the first shot(sometimes + pistol shot) or, you should have moved positions already. Camoflauge(sp?) is a joke for BF2 anyway, so it's not like they couldn't look around - not to mention UAV/Commander Spotting.

Well the files for the gun are actually in the game, so i do believe it's possible to get it into the game. Going by EA/Dice track record for bf2, it won't suprise me at all if this does turn out to be the new sniper rifle. Mainly due to the point judging by that bf2s thread is that it's pretty much done, all that needs to be done is a few tweaks and they can throw it in the game.

Ahem PHOTOSHOP! Looks kinda cool. But thats the M95 painted black and you pasted a SVD/Type88 sniper rifle ammo box. Still looks cool though.
