Can anyone explain step by step how i can record using BattleRecorder?

I want to use the in game recorder to record myself playin in local servers that I create, but I have no idea where to even start. Do I have to download anything? Im completely lost on how to make BattleRecorder work. When you explain it to me, just imagine that I have just loaded the game on my comp, so I need to know every step needed in order for me to be able to record myself in a local server i create.

That doesnt tell me anything.....I want to know what I need to do to be able to record myself playing and then watching that. This tells you how to record a recording. I need to know the steps before this that will allow me to record stuff.

You can only record gameplay on your own server.

So, set up a local LAN server and join it.

Then bring down the console and type:
"demo.recorddemo <somefilename>" ..to start recording.

"demo.stopRecording" ..stops the demo.

The file will be saved here:
\Program Files\EA Games\Battlefield 2\mods\bf2\Demos

to view them, copy the .demo files to:
\My Documents\Battlefield 2\Profiles\Default\Demos

Use Fraps if you want to record yourself in any server. Its easy to use. It will record in thirty second increments. F9 for record and F10 for screenshots. It needs to be activated for it to work(can be done while playing, just alt/tab out and click icon). It will aslo show your FPS. Downside, is that it will lower your FPS when recording but oh well.

You don't have the demo folder because you haven't recorded a demo yet.

You need to record one first with the [i]demo.recorddemo[i] command

Yes, that first demo folder will be created the first time you record one...BUT, if you have never downloaded a demo using the 'Community' tab, then the other folder will not exist and you will have to create it yourself.

Yes you must download DEMO.CMD from here

Record a DEMO then PLAY it use'n DEMO.CMD But first you must READ & UNDERSTAND the INSTRUCTIONS that come with DEMO.CMD to manipulate the camera so you can watch yourself.

I never downloaded DEMO.CMD and I got Battlerecorder to record my LAN sessions just fine.

All that file does is allow you to record the camera movements you make if you want to make something more of the demo you're recording than just watching it yourself.

Ya that post doesnt tell you anything.....I figured it out thought. All I did was create a demos folder in the battlefield directory, entered the game, recorded, then created another demos folder in the my documents>Battlefild2>ect area, moved the files there, entered BF2, and watched it through the community tab.

I have tried all that **** but none of it works, ive reocrded them all for demo.cmd using command prompt to launch it but it does jack ****!! HELP PLEASE!!
