my average ping rate in servers is 25-30. is ping rate better being higher or lower and is mine any good. the reason i ask is cos the game very rarely runs smooth, it tends to just feel a bit off and im begginin to think its affectin shootin skills. :hmm: load times are really long as well, sometimes takin 5 mins

also whats the best setting to use for my system and do these affect ping rates as well? ive tryed both high and medium (1024x678 60 hz) settings but didnt notice much difference.

athlon 2800 mhz
768mb ram
256mb ati radeon 9600 pro

your ping is fine... if it goes above 40-50 it might lag... but not much... and try 800x600 because your system isnt like really new

if you havent changed anything in the controls it's : END than type renderer.drawfps 1 you get to see your framerate

I dont think so. Pings up to 120-140 are fine and you wont see much trouble, anything higher than that and it ocasionaly lags a bit depending on what the other players pings are like.
