Quick tip:

When firing the AT rocket at a reasonably fast-moving target (like a Blackhawk or jeep), don't fire at the target and then compensate for movement by trying to "follow" the target with the guidance.

Instead, fire a ways out in front of the target (lead it by a healthy margin), and bend the shot backwards toward it (opposite its path of motion) - you'll greatly increase your chances of hitting.

I usually fire the rocket way infront of the object and still move it forward in the same direction as the object and usually hit it.

Both ways work, but I find it (mainly) depends on the situation.

I still find it funny a lot of people don't know how to use the AT rocket effectively. This is a good tip, I've done it myself all the time when it comes to choppers, even almost got me a slow flying jet once...but artillery killed me *grumble*

also when shooting at a stationary target, aim above it then curve your shot down into it so as not to set off its tone lock alarm.

I've fallen in love with the AT missile as of late. I use all of the tactics above as mentioned, some shots can seem quite....how do you say....questionable.

I also like the top-down. Fire up at a 45+ degree angle and then bring the missile down on faraway tanks/APCs. It makes it much harder for them to see where it came from.

find my own tactic best at this moment, could ofcourse be because I am used ti it , just shoot some in front of moving objest (depending on speed of object , you shoor further in front of it), then adjust what needs to be adjusted to hit .

main problem with AT weapon is you need to hit the object seeral times, and the object you are shooting at only has to hit you one time

What most of the ppl i know do is shot at it then folo i told them about what u guys posted, he now has increased his kills by almost 15% hes craxy to he shots like a crack hor on meth bomm after boom after another

also ya i like parachuting down on warlord and shooting for the tanks and manned jeeps in air. Its easy trying to manuever it to the target cause your both moving

Ah yes, AT never get enough credit for the function of their kit; this post is most invaluable; because sometimes when I play AT, I used to fire THEN follow... most my missiles just fly behind the moving target, and thats 1 missile wasted and another 8 seconds wasted on reloading the rocket. Great for the MEC AT on Mashtuur- they have enough trouble with the BH as it is.

If it's at very long range then I recommend shooting a little BEHIND them and letting the missile curve so that it comes in from diagonally behind them rather than from the side.

It's only useable at really long distances tho. Like 60% of fog range and up because the missile has to do a long curve in behind them. I usually use this at Dragon Valley when shooting at vehicles across the water. I see an APC speeding along the road on the other side and fire behind it, starting to track it. The missile goes out of my vision and some second or 2 later I see the APC shudder from an explosion with no idea where it came from.

May also be useful in the AA turret sites to let the missiles curve up behind the target rather than leading and seeing the missile make a S curve as it tracks towards the aircraft and then turns the other way as the plane/heli flies past.

And yes, the AT kit is so underestimated. They can kill everything. The rocket launcher works really well as an anti infantry weapon I find, blows prone people and snipers away at all sorts of distances and you can get really good at using it for close range snapshots.
The SMGs/DAO12 are pretty miserable at everything but close range spam of course.
