Crashes to Desktop while loading map

I am having a problem loading BF2. My game loaded up before I installed teh v 1.12 patch. Now after I installed it, the game always desktops when the map is about half way loading up. Now i manualy installed the new patch becuase I kept getting the patch failed error. I tried to load up my DxDiag but it was to big of a file for the forum is said. Here are my computer specs also below. If anyone knows the solution I would appreciate it. I can't wait to play the game. I also have downloaded the latest drivers for Nivdia and my ac'97. Now before ths patch thing, I was able to play the game around medium settings.

Win XP
5900xt card
1 gig geil value ram
athlon xp 3200

i have the same problems exept i have a ati radeon 9200

I guess that may eliminate the driver issue. Maybe it has something to do with audio? I am running off my main nfroce 2 board with AC 97. Did it start happening after you installed the new patch? I guess what I may do next is reinstall the whole game agian and maybe reload the patch, maybe I messed something up when I installed the patch manualy hmmm I will let you know as soon as I can fix it

How did you "manually install the patch"?

While the maps are loading, and try different maps, see if they keep freezing while loading the same .zip file. The name will be at the lower left hand side.

Run BF in a windowed mode (it should give u an error message)
Just copy your desktop shortcut and put the line in the target box.
Make sure it relates to your BF Dir

C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\BF2.exe" +menu 1 +fullscreen 0 +restart 1

Thanks for the help guys, I'm gona try it agian. I unsinstalled it and now haveing trouble reinstalling the patch again lol (Im so tempted to bring the game back but won't) If I cant figure it out I will just wait until the new patch comes out.
