Screen going black.

hi all,

I really need some help. i just bought BF2 yesterday and it installed fine and everything. when I went to play the game it passed through the EA games and DTCE advertisements and then i waited at the BF2 screen for a couple seconds. then the video came on of the world and i watched the whole video of the fighting and action. after the video i saw a fuzzy screen and then my screen just went black with a cursor. i can hear music fine and everything in the back it is just a black screen. i have no idea what is going on? i waited for about 20 minutes the first time and nothing happened. after that i tryed it again and after five minutes a screen came on for about 5 seconds but no cursor and said "Play multiplayer." "Play single player." but i couldn't click on neither of the options. what could be the problem. do I need a new video card? but if my video card wasn't compatible wouldn't it say it during the install? thanks for the help. any insight or help is greatly appreciated.

Nope, i'm sorry mate your card isnt supported by battlefield 2...

i love this editing option :) shall i edit in the list of supported cards too ??

okay thanks. so does that mean i just need a new video card or a new game too? im sorry im a complete newbie? if i go buy a video card now and keep the game installed should it work? also, what would you guys reccommened for a good video card? best performance but cheapest cost wise? thanks.

ohhh goddie god.... oke listen up can you wright down evverryything that is in your computer... and you wont need a new game... but im not gonna recommend anything to you :P im gonna let other ppl do that so just wait for other people to pop up on this forum


you can keep your game installed but a fresh windows install is always recommended when you put in a new videocard...

does BF2 support geforce 6200?

It doesn't say it supports it, but I'm sure some people play with a 6200. If you're concerned, go for a 6600 or a 6800.

i already bought the 6200 i haven't installed it though. on this site it says lowest geforce is 5700. so i dont understand why the 6200 wouldn't be listed?

i have it dont worry. i play on mid/high. turn off dynamtic lights/aa off. any choice tht has off in it. turn it off. how much ram do u have. if u have 1gig or 1.5gigs, u can run on high. trust me. wit the things off. as i mentioned.
