BF2 Hack??

Today I was playing Wake Island on the DOF server and I witnessed the first hack (I'm guessing) I've seen in this game. I was driving a tank to the main airfield and right at the entrance was another tank from my team. The jackass opened fire on me and tked me.

I figured it was just some kid being a loser when I noticed I didn't have the option to punish him. The scrolling text showed that he tked me but still no option to punish. This went on and on with him repeatedly tking myself and my teammates. Eventually, I had enough of the douchebag and decided to leave the game and find greener pastures. Right before I exited I looked up at the scoreboard and noticed the guy was 38 and 3 with tons of teamwork points.

Not only was he not getting punished for tking his teammates he was getting credit for kills when he did it.

The guys name was Santoi or Sartoi... don't remember which.

Have any of you guys ever seen anything like this?

1 of 2 things.

1. TK punish is disabled on that server. Which is a good thing. It's abused too much.

2. It was the red-tag bug. He was actually on the other team, but was showing as RED to you.

close :)...he had the blue tag bug and so showed as blue and friendly. which when they are in tanks you have no way of knowing they are really enemy. so you run past the trank with a happy face thinking "ohh look a team mate in a tank is helping me cap the flag" then he TK's you heh....though its not really a TK as he is really the enemy. until you figure that out its annoying but once you have figured it out you can use it to your advantage as you can always see them on your radar as a blue friendly so know where they are going and can kill them. best time was when i was commader and had the even more rare commader tag bug.....i could see the enemy commader on my map all the time as he showed as a friendly commader. The amount of times i killed him that game hehehe.

what i have found is ive been on a server where i get tkd and theres no option to punish.

But the server doesn't have it turned off because later on in the same round i get tkd again by someone else and i di get the option to punsih.

I have seen this happen a few times too, so its either a new cheat or a server bug, my guess is its a server bug.

The other day I was bugged on a SF server...warlord map. I used it to my full advantage. Once I was able to get away from all the TK'ers on my team - I was able to go over to the enemy base in the palace and just sit there and kill kill kill. They would eventually catch on, or there would be someone that did not see me as a teammate and I would be killed - but man it was great! Reminded me of being the covert ops in RTCW - lol. Run into the enemy lines with my back to them and make it look like I was shooting at my own team - then turn around and knife the enemies in the back while trying not to be spotted. LOL - it was good fun. I logged out and back in after that round to fix it.

Yeah I normally would have thought it was just a tag glitch, except for this.

1. All he was doing was tking.
2. It showed he was tking in the scrolling text.
3. He was getting credit for kills
4. He was number one on our team in points.
5. The option to punish was there for everyone else but him.

To be honest with you I've never heard of the blue tag bug. If thats what it does then so be it.

Jesus I almost blew a gasket at the end of that game.

Yeah it's just the reverse of the red name bug. It's less common but it is there. Something to do with player's team changes not being correctly communicated to/from server or to/from clients, or some arcane combination of that I reckon.

your 5 points confirm its the blue tag bug as thats exactly what happens....although it looks like he is TKing everyone on your team to you with it saying it in the scrolling text, to everyone else it says he has killed you. if you watched the game back in battlefield recorder you would see it all as correct with no TK's being said.

Sometimes it wont ask you to punish/forgive for a TK if it looks to be like a blatant accident. (i.e. you take out a helo only for it to land on a car full of friendlys)

So you are saying that the computer uses judgement to determine if the act was intentional?¿?
