I reinstalled Windows over the weekend due to a harddrive finding more and more bad sectors everyday so a format was the only solution. I reinstall BF2 and Sf without a hitch and thought I'd see how my system ran with a fresh install, so I grabbed FRAPS to check my framerate.
With both SF and BF2 though I wasn't able to get a fps over 35. It sometimes dropped to 20 but normally stuck around 30-35.
Visually I don't see that much of a difference since before the install. I don't get the feeling that the game looks slower but I was a little surprised by a fps of just 30.
The funny thing also is that I don't seem to get any increase in fps when I drop everything to LOW settings. I have no problem playing the game but was hoping that someone could say either that it was normal that it's like that or if I was forgetting something somewhere :)
Running everything at MEDIUM, with AA @ 2x and resolution @ 1024 x 768 (60Hz)
AMD64 3200+
Nvidia Geforce 6800Pro 128Mb
2 Gb DDR RAM
ASUS K8N-E Deluxe (Chipset NVIDIA nForce3)
200Mb SATA HD
Antac Phantom 500W PSU
