yep tht right - no "real" mods out yet... and at this rate it they wont be released any time soon unfortunately.... i got my eyes on desert conflict and FH2...

Yes, so far it's just mini-mods. There are a couple of mods I'm really looking forward to. Apart from Project Reality I'm really interested in BF1918 for example.

At the Sir. Community we are currently playing Surreal and Codename: Eagles Legends.

They have a number of new weapons, vehicles and maps, which makes them "total conversions" rather than Minimods.

Also I would recommend Project Reality. Although Only a minimod at this stage, its pretty good fun.

But, as the others have said, there are no true total conversions out yet. Many should be out this year, and some of them look stonkers amazing.

There are so many great MODs on the howrizon. Of course, I am partial to Desert Conflict. Lets all ask EA why they are sabotaging the MOD community in every possible way, out of sight from the game noobs who pay not attention and wonder why the MODs arent done yet.

Is it because they want you to buy there very small "MODs" known as "expansion" or "Booster" packs? Do they tempt you guys with better weapons and extras that the unfortunate wont have? How much will you give EA for BF2 when its all said and done? 100$, more?

I've only been playing surreal. Mods that arn't out yet that in will play religously are POE, USI, and Rising Conflicts

You've a more than valid point there. They provide consumer needs before the mods can deliver them. And it is because of the ranking system. Who doesn't love statistics? First they'll sell small packs, later, probably not BF2, but BF3, you'll need to pay a monthly fee for the game. It's smart from a business point of you.

But in the end, mods can counter it by doing a phenomenal job by really listening to the fan base. It's a though job to do.

I am currently playing USI but it is not out yet. I am part of the Dev team and all I can say is Burning Oilfields is my new Fav. map of all time.
