    badges and requirements

Okay, well Im not okay with the fact that you need certain badges to get ranks in bf2. I also dont like "Trying" to earn badges. I feel the badges reflect what kind of player you are, and not how you can stat pad. But whatever, I dont mind people who do it, I just dont. But I noticed, to earn one of my next ranks I neeeded knife combat badge and anti tank badge.
During games I do get knife kills often, maybe average 1-3 a game. But 7?? Same with AT, I use it when there are tanks and such, but Im not going to purposly get 10kills with it so I can gain a rank. And I feel that if you get badges and ribbons for the things you do in the battlefield, it shouldnt affect your rank (sorta) If you are the 1337357 sniper in the world, you are only going to get sniper badges and ribbons, and not AT ribbons, not assault ribbons, therefore you wont get the higher ranks no matter what your global points are.
I am probbaly going to end up trying for the badges anyway, in the most team-helping way possible, so I dont feel bad about using AT for an hour just to get kills with it.
So this post is basically a waste of your time reading it, I guess i just wanted to throw that out there, or if anyone feels the same or not. W/e thanks for reading it.

Glad you got that off your chest. Now stop whining. If you want the rank, get the badges. It's as simple as that. You can't change the game.

You don't need badges for ranks, you need them for specific higher ranks, ie; 1st SGT and CSM. Both have equals without having to have the badges, but having them and getting the different ranks is the games way of rewarding a rounded player. Now yes, I know we all know that some people are not rounded and get them anyway by doing things a certain way, but that's the original purpose.
