Noob tactics for the greater good?

Played 2 rounds of mashturr the other day, and on the opposing team were a bunch of dedicated blackhawk whores - kudos to them though, as in the first game we lost about 170-0 or something. total ownage.

In the second game though, I got a squad organised in the MEC transport chopper, and dropped them off at the main US base immediatley, and as they were capturing it I rammed my chopper into thier blackhawk and killed all 6 of them. My squad then spent the rest of the game defending that point from them as they threw everything they had at us to try and get back thier precious blackhawk.... and failed.

We dominated the map and won comfortably, as they sucked on the ground :)

any other instances where 1 noobish action has won the game for your team?

With how ridiculously unbalanced the BH is to the MEC transport chopper and how rarely I see this happen (only saw it once or twice) I consider this a pretty legit tactic. It's just way too easy for the minigunners to rack up kills so they should have to deal with a little BS once in awhile.

Can't really think of anything on topic. :P

Hm.. On SF, often enough I've slapped on my gas mask in a tight spot and just shot a tear gas nade down at my feet. Is that noobish? I think so.

always when you play against USA and they have blackhawk so the advantage is on their side.
another noobish action is to take a car to put on it C4 and ram into tank or BTR with suiciding.If he survive its good but most of this noobs dying when trying to ram you.

I swore off tank-whoring a long time ago (too easy) but I'm well aware of C4-bombing tanks, and to be fair, using carbombs to kill tanks is one of the more realistic weapons in BF2.....

I like the teargas idea though, thats cunning would get you some tasty knife kills I would imagine. Unless they are using a DAO12, in which case they would still get you as you don't need to aim with that gun as we all know :p

Valid tactic...at least until they balance Mashtuur City.

When BF2 was version 1.0, I used to load the Mi-8 with C4 and ram the BH every time it was obvious the other team was wh0ring it instead of using it for transport.

You shoulda HEARD the cries from those babies.

Now...I just cap the South Gas Station with my 2-man squad and hold it for the entire round.

Pistoled the (actually quite decent) enemy commander in the leg once to tease him, then started skulking around his toys until he repeatedly dropped arty there, destroying his own assets. I think that actually helped, if only to help us capture without getting shelled to hell.

I always try to take the enemies airbase and hold it. It's loads of fun killing flyboys (most have no ground game) as they desperatly try to get thier planes and choppers back.

If you have that good of an organized squad, you should've went flying loaded with at least a spec ops and support. Fly and position the helicopter so your spec ops can drop C4s in mid-air and denonate them.

Best tactic I've seen so far to take out Blackhawks in midair.

I usually use the transport choppers as transports (for flags), and the attack choppers as gunships (for killing). Its when you confuse thier roles that it gets a bit dodjy lol

IMO the blackhawk should have 50cals instead of miniguns. I can almost hear the chorus of whineing already :)

I'd hardly call that a noobish tactic - taking the BH spawn = wins a lot of the time.

But having 'one thing' win the map usually involves taking their BH spawn, stealing a helo on Sharqi, or taking over the enemy airfield....

Have you ever flown in a black hawk on Mashturr and was a gunner? Those mini guns almost destroyed my APC in about 5 seconds. It's been stated before that the miniguns are too powerful and that is the truth.

Sure you can take down a blackhawk, but that's not the point. The point is is that chopper is considerably better than the MEC/Chinese chopper. They should replace the miniguns with 50 cal as D503 stated. If both choppers had it, that would just double the whoring, which we don't need.

On topic:

Giood job on what you idd. If both choppers were essentially the same, I would change my mind. But as it stands now, they're not.
