Is this common...?

I was playing in two different servers and it happened both times. The first tme I ranked first on my team I was wondering why I haven't got a Gold nor Silver star awards. Don't you get these for being first or second on your team or am I wrong?

its first out of all the people in the server not your team.you came in 4th spot so no medal.
