Favorite class! Most people dont realize that not every teammate has to be on the friggin' front lines and that you dont *have* to drop mines everywhere to be a good Engy. Get in a light vehicle and ride around supporting your team's tanks and APCs every now and then. I havent met a player yet who didnt appreciate a quick drive-by repair job. Grab a Support or Medic with ya and you're basically a mobile supply crate! Then make it back to home base when your assets are being blown away. Saves your Commander from having to run around doing it, and if you can roll in on that SpecOps guy with a Jackhammer in hand - you'll make him wish he had something a little beefier than a stupid carbine.

Personally, I'd rather have an Engy in my top nest than drive a tank as one myself. That way they can repair while youre fighting and you reduce the chance of the vehicle getting jacked while youre out wrenching it. I sometimes roll with the AT kit so if I run into armor and its coming down to the last shots I can get a final missle off before I lose the vehicle. Most tankers dont expect that coming... :)

Old BF42 habbit, playing Engineers ALL TIME, you can't really do this in BF2, but in BF42 I used to land my planes somewhere in the edge of the map to repair it, much safer than the stupid hangar (although you could fly right into it full speed and not die lol), Battleaxe is a great map for doing that, lots of outer space around the fighting arena.
