Im getting ****ed

Hey all i just got BF2 and im really ****ed because when i go to log onto my multiplayer account the damn thing frezzes up on me every time it will just stay on the "logging into user account" thing and just sit there for ever! and i've had to manually cut off the computer many times to just get the damn thing to get off the loading account screen and ive tried it about 5 times and out of thouse 5 it usually works once...

All im asking if anyone has had this problem with their BF2 im not running a firewall when i play it except for windows and it hasnt promted me to block BF2 and it BF2 has logged on the account server of the 5 out of 30 ive tried....there are hardly no programs running in the background, ive reinstalled the game so i dont know what the damn deal is..

Aye thx for the welcome my specs are as follows:
1.8 pentium M
80 GB HD
Nvidia 6800 go
1GB Ram

I think it's the processor, 1.8 on a pentium is pretty low. Also, BF2 tends to not do too great on laptops.

Well make sure your firewalls are down. I dont know if any of you guys use PeerGuardian (great IP blocker btw), but one of the lists blocks EA including the BF2 login servers.

just because it is a 1.8 pentium m doesnt mean it wont work. we have to remember that even though parts may suck they still work. it does take quite a while for me to log on too,maybe like 1 minute at tops when I have a bad connection. just let it sit there for an hour if u have to.

and logging on has nothing to do with the CPU as far as I know, it has to do with connecting to the server, why do you think it takes no time at all to log on with the bf2 demo now and days? its the same game, if it relied on the CPU they would both lag, but It is internet connection/their server. also, dont alt tab or have people instant message you while its connecting this slows it down.

Oh and I just realized, isn't a 1.8ghz Pentium M a decent processor? I'm not all that sure about this, but I know it ain't no P3 1.8ghz.

yeah well pentium M is a good processor i dont know how it compares to pentium 4 but just because it is a 1.8 dont mean its a p4 1.8 it measures up and i play wow so i dont know how bf2 wont do well on my laptop i guess its my background proscesses are blocking the servers or somthing....
Has anyone else had this problem...

your background processes cant stop your from connecting to a server, unless one of them is a really intense firewall.
