    Video Problem

What i get as you will see by the image is somedays my computer will develop blue lines through the screen.

    P4 3.0gh cpu
    msi 661fm2 mobo
    1gb ram
    saphire radeon 9800pro 128mb
    5meg cable connection
    windowsxp home edition

what could be causing this? Cpu overheating? Video card going bad? Ram going bad? This happens whether i am playing the game or surfing the net. Any help would be great.

holy crap, those look like artifacts to me. is your vid card overclocked? it can be causes by heat., or your video card is just dead, either way I would suggest getting a new one.

Have you tried cleaning the fan on your video card??

How is the circulation in your case?? Have you tried taking your side panel off?

Best way to troubleshoot if it is the video card, is to borrow a friends video card and use that in your PC and see if it happens with that too.

Make sure to test your video card in your friends PC too, to see if same problems happens there.

You have remembered to attach the extra molex connector to the 9800 Pro right?

At the moment i have a fan blowing in my case. The side is off. As for trying a different video card, i have not. Dont have an extra to try. Was thinking of trying onboard video to see if the problem occurs while using photoshop which at times it does. I am at ends on this. I think i am looking at a new video card. Yes the extra connector is connected to the card.

Videocard died...a friend of mine had EXACTLY the same either when a game went from game to menu or all the time or when he played for over half an hour... buy a new one and if you're tight on money x800s dont cost a lot...
