"There is a problem with your connection"

    Hi,

Well i'll get straight to the problem.. before installin the 1.12 patch i was playin bf2 online with no problems, no lag, generally low ping. but it seems that afta installin 1.12, i alwiz seem to be gettin the connection problem msg durin games. I looked at my ping in these games n found it to be very erratic. it would go from a low ping and the next instant jump up to a very high ping n then drop back down again. i have updated my pb files. i have set my vid settings to the lowest. i have diabled eax and set sound quality to low. i have tried loggin in to only the lowest ping servers but to no avail. i have formatted my comp n reinstalled everythin. installed bf2 n special forces again. ran the 1.12 patch but still same problem. i even tried a winsock fix. i also tried diablin all the firewalls(windows n mcafee) its soooo frustrati n. i would appreciate any help. Thanx a million!

PS. tried uploadin my dxdiag.txt file but it exceeds the file size. any other way i can upload it? its 38.5kb.

Tagging this forum for future reference. I'm curious to see if anyone has an idea. I've checked out the previous threads and really didn't see much. Most people solved their problems fixing different things and I've made a list. It's not for me, it's for my roomate. Can't even connect via LAN and his rig is better than mine.

i smell spyware or some kind of resource hog on ur m8 cpu ,
try ctrl-alt-del and see how many prosseses are running shouldnt be more than 20-22 with a firwall on if its 30+ then u may need to freshen up a bit, this may not be the answer just a thought, and while ur there give it a good defrag !!
p.s always best to iliminate the obvious 1st

Re: "There is a problem with your connection"

Interesting RAM capacity. Do you have like... two 512's and two 128's? Do they match?

800x600 @60hz? Isn't that super dark and hurting your eyes?

39 processess isn't that horrible. I have 30 right now and this is my gaming profile. What you have to do is sort by "User Name". I've got 12 running right now, five of which are required (explorer.exe, taskmgr.exe, and since I use ATI: ati2evxx.exe & cli.exe (which actually appears twice, which is common).

The only ones I'd turn off, for me, are Trillian, Xfire, Firefox, and AVG (virus scanner).

Basically, just turn off everything except explorer.exe and taskmgr.exe. See if any programs you WANT open close. If so, figure out which ones they are. Then type msconfig into RUN and click on the STARTUP tab. Drag the divider over so you can see the location of each file, and unclick the ones you know you dont' want to automatically open everytime you start windows. Also check your START/ PROGRAMS/STARTUP folder and delete any shortcuts to programs you dont want to autorun. Restart, recheck ctrl+alt+del. If that doesn't help your process problem, or you want someone to look at your diag file, you can email it to me if you want. My contacts are on my profile here.

The exact same thing is happening to me. I highly doubt its SpyWare

                My Specs:
                P4 3Ghz
                1GB DDR2 533 RAM
                160GB HD
                X800GTO2 Unlocked

                Its so freaking annoying

Edit: I'm Not on a router I am not using wireless, I have SBC Yahoo DSL

                        Same kind of problem here.

I get connection problems every now and then in Every Game I play.

Since about a month ago. My internet worked fast and smooth before, but now it got really annoying. I can't play games like I used to and it's not my comp specs for sure.

It will freeze for like 2-3 seconds and then will be find again and it happens about every 10-15 minutes(at least in CounterStrikeSource)
