How much have I missed!

Got my new Comp up and running last night. 2Gb Ram, 3.4Ghz and an NIVIDA GeForce 7800 GTX 256Mb gfx card.

I have been playing with everything set to low until now. I can now play with everything set to high.

I never realised on how much detail I was missing out on. BF2 has roads! The jets have vapour trails, you can see arty shells smoke trails, vehicles are actually quite detailed the list goes on. The extra detail is quite outstanding.

However it is harder to spot players hiding in dark areas.

My ping has remained at between 10 and 15. Even with a USB headset (previously they boosted it to 300+).

So if you have been playing on a low end machine as I have for months then take the plunge and either get a new system or upgrade, it is worth it.

I rather play with low actually, because it runs smoother and you see things better.

(Still play with gemoetry and texture filter at high, 4x AA)

Offcourse it's worth something but is it worth the actual money u spent on it for others?

I have a new PC and just begun on BF2, AMD Athlon 3500 1 GB RAM and a GeForce 6600. It's a nice thing and well..........after such a long time on low quality I can see you want a VERY GOOD PC to compensate it but in general a PC as mine is good enough trust me

I share in your rejocing brother! As of 2 days ago I had been playing with a 5800 gforce and a 754 amd 64 2800+, last night I installed my new evga mobo, evga 7800gt and amd 939 64 3200+!!!!!!!!!!!! I found out that arty actually throws dirt and dust up in the air when it strikes!!! Before all I could see were 4 rocks thrown in the air per shell!!! And did you know that even if you have 100% view distance on you may not be able to use it do to vid card limits? I can see twice as far now without changing anything!!! So rejoice !!!!!!!!!!
