Where are all the SF servers with players in them???

Everytime I login to SF, I get tons of servers, but 90% of them are empty?? Doesn't anyone play SF?? I personally love SF and feel it's a great addition to BF2!! I have to refresh multiple times to finally get a server with a low ping and decent amount of players in it!

I know a lot of people are avoiding SF because of the issues many are experiencing with it. Hopefully with the new patch, the majority of the issues are ironed out and more players will play SF!!

Yup, you've got a good point.

I've notoiced that the SF servers tend to start emptying during the night, whereas the BF2 servers are still full.

I wanted to play some SF this morning (around 06am GMT), and all the Norwegian servers were empty, all the Scandinavian ones was empty. When I set the filter to Europe, it showed up with only 2 servers where people was playing; one with 12 players and one with ~20.
I had to go play normal BF instead as I prefer 64-player action. There are always enough vanilla servers, but during off hours the SF servers tend to empty out

Use the filter that gets rid of empty servers. And yes, there are not many SF servers anyway. The only filters I use are: Ranked, Not full, Populated, Punkbuster, Large Maps. I get around 70 servers on GOOD days. most of the time it's around 50 or 60. Ive never gotten to or past 100 with my filters. Also, more than half of the servers are normally 24/7 Warlord or Ghost Town servers.

I don't get much SF server (for some reason, the game browser shows like 95% bf2 vanilla servers) , but the ones it shows are prety filled up.

way I do it, is when I find a good server who is filled most of the time, I just set it into my favorits

i dont play sf much coz a just get lag in biludings or any were else it decidecides to strike plus there are not many sf servers on "getpaid2playbf2" so just bin killin vanilla for a bit.

The trouble is you are right a lot of people who have SF have gone back to playing BF2. We rotate usually on a daily basis between BF2 and SF though sometimes it might be on one or the other for 2 days at a time. Ours seems to run 24/7 still with SF though the player count is a lot lower, around half capacity in the early hours of the morning whereas BF2 is full 24/7

Your probably right. I for one would be back if the next patch fixes the performance.

I get no loag.. It depends on your rig. Just a load of people with **** pcs that could run bf2 can't run sf.

The problem is that the mods are seperated. I'd love to play with maps where the normal BF2 maps and the SF maps were mixed up, but it's boring playing only infantry maps all the time, which is what you get in SF. In BF2 you already have variety, some infantry maps and different maps with different kinds of focus.

God knows how much worse this problem will be when the release the two "boosterpacks", which will probably be seperate, with only a few maps each...

"Hm, should I start up BF2: Booster Pack 1 and play on these two maps, or should I start normal BF2 and have 13 to choose from?" :/

Hmm, but the thing is, what would happen if someone from BF2 joined the server to say play karkand, then it changes to warlord. Maybe half the server would be kicked.

That is not possible. We run both BF2 vanilla and SF usually on alternating days. Its not possible to mix BF2 and SF maps in the same map rotation. The server must be stopped and changed from one to the other. You can only play all SF maps or all BF2 maps they can't be mixed.

BTW our server is currently on SF.
