    can"t create an on-line account.

I'm sure this has been posted before, ..but here goes. I have a game-spy account but when i go to play BF2 online (thru game-spy) i can't get connected. I have a single-player account with BF2.(created inside the BF2 interface) and so have been able to play the game in single-player mode, but no success with multiplayer mode. I have tried creating a new account, but i kept getting the eror message "no uniquenick".Anyone able to point me in the right direction ?....by the way other games i have are able to be played online, is it maybe a firewall issue ?

Re: can"t create an on-line account.

Doesn't look like a firewall issue as I'm pretty sure that the 'no uniquenick' is a reply from the Gamespy server.

Firstly I'd say that people have had better experience with creating a new BF2 account rather than using their existing Gamespy account which *should* work fine but some people forget they the 2 account are linked and delete their Gamespy a/c not knowing that they lose all their stats by doing so.

Do you get this error message everytime you try to create an online account?
I'm guessing that you have no problem in creating a singleplayer account?

You could just delete the profiles dir in /my doc/bf2/ and start again...

gamespy and all things related to it are a F**kup .... the stats are and were a good idea but giving the job to gamespy was like giving gary gliter a primary school cleaners job....

good luck to you.. youll probably be stuck with a name you dont want though
