Greetings, I just bought an Nvidia MSI 6600GT and BF2 does not want to work. I attempt to load it and it just brings me back to the desk top. I was under the impression that the 6600 GT was supported. Is this not the case? Thanks

Re: Question about the 6600GT
it is supported, but with it you need
Drivers that come with bf2 (or greater)
directx9.0c (came with game)
celeron (pentium 4 version)
sempron
Athalon xp
or greater cpu
512mb of ram
windows xp sp1
if after all that it doesnt work, check it again, cuz if the game starts but crashes before the menu then its one of those specs above -

Re: Question about the 6600GT
Yes its supported. I have a 6600gt (made by gigabyte) and I can run med/high settings. Whats your processor and ram? Have you updated your video card drivers? I think the latest its like 81.98, or at least its what I have.Comment

Re: Question about the 6600GT
Thanks for the responses. I have an old XP 2400+ and 512 mb of ram
. I used to be able to run the game on med/high with my Radeon 9700 which recently fizzled out on me for some reason. I downloaded drivers using some MSI auto update, but now I'm going to install the newest ones from Nvidia, hopefully it will work lol

Re: Question about the 6600GT
It is PCI-e with some sort of AGP bridge. I don't have an PCI-e motherboard. Oddly enough I can run the BF2 Demo just fine

Re: Question about the 6600GT
Well, I uninstalled the ATI drivers if that's what you mean. I don't get why it's not working. Lots of people I know have this card and it works fine.Comment

Re: Question about the 6600GT
also, reinstalling bf2 also works.
i have a 6600 GT, like the other guy says, it can run medium or high settings, depending on how much ram you have and how high res you want.
for my resolution which is widescreen and about equivalent to 1024 by 768 you can run all settings on high without your card working up a sweat (it goes to about 58 degrees instead of 54/55 when on desktop heh...)
reason I WOULD reinstall rather than delete profiles is because i KNOW FOR SURe that reinstalling doenst harm your online profiles.
whereas deleting the PROFILES folder just might heh... also, if reinstalling doesnt work you can always just delete the profiles like they say. either way its good.Comment

Re: Question about the 6600GT
Your player profile is stored online, thus the reason you have to connect to the account server even if you are playing in single player. All you have to do is retrive your account settings (click on the button) and your profile is released to your computer again.Originally posted by IntensivCareBearalso, reinstalling bf2 also works.
