"Spotted" enemies showing as WHITE dots?

Okay, I've mentioned this in another post, but didn't have any proof of it. Sometimes when playing commander, an enemy I "spot" shows as a white dot on the command map. I asked a clanmate in the area, and the enemy showed as a red dot, not a white dot, on his minimap. Why is it that an enemy would show as a white dot??

The white dot enemy is the Commander

You can click in players in the squad screen and they turn white on the map and there name turns white if they are in a squad. Don't know about commander screen though.

That's for friendlies........I had an enemy show up white. Now I know why.
