  • Seriously getting ticked off

So i have owned BF2 since about a week after it came out and to this day i have not found a resolution to my problem. Whenever i click on a server to join, it shuts down BF2, no errors, nothing. just shuts it off. I have searched everywhere, tried everything. This stupid game just refuses to work. And THIS paticular problem only happened when they patched it to 1.12. EA doesnt have a ****ing clue. if i could return this crap i would. IF there is any company who has the worst support team on the face of the planet, its EA they can all burn in hell for all i care, what a waste of money. And Special forces sucks to by the way

    Re: Seriously getting ticked off

So you have BF2 vanilla and SF?

Make sure you RE-patched the game to 1.12 after you install SF for it to work properly.

Also, if all fails, stop ranting, and just do a fresh reinstall from scratch. That usually solves all problems.

I've dealt with that problem before in the past. Basically a Format reinstall of windows fixed me up. Before I formatted and reinstalled I would have to scan for spyware, remove it all and then Use MSconfig to close out of ALL open programs AND close out of all processes on the Task Manager. BF2 just doesn't like spyware for some reason.

-moved to the support section for you- if you are asking for help, this is the place to do it, if you are ranting, nobody really wants to hear it, so I will do everyone a favor and close the thread if that's all you are after.

seriously with all the anti ea ranting, ive had damn well enough of some stupid punk ranting about how it wont work, even for painfully obvious reasons ( EVER SINCE I SET MY COMPUTER ON FIRE BF2 WONT RUN! WAAA! EA SUCKS11111!!!!)

you dont like the game special forces? well you know what, nobody is making you buy it! eas not going to break your knees if you dont try and play their game. just shut up about it already.

              Re: Seriously getting ticked off

Cut the guy some slack. He is right about their support. I've felt the same way he has on numerous occasions. A fresh install of Windows shouldn't be necessary for any program, but sometimes it is necessary.

Try reinstalling, but don't patch. See if you can join a server, if there are any unpatched servers. Wait, does it shut down when you click to join a server or when you click a server in the server list?

                  Re: Seriously getting ticked off

as soon as i double click a server to join, it sits there for a sec, and then just completly shuts down. I even went and bought a Geforce vid card and got rid of my perfectly fine ATI card thinking that was the problem.. nope...

Do you have a firewall enabled? If so, turn it off.

                          Cheers
