Ive been running Battlefield 2 at 1280X960@70Hz with everything on high except Lighting and Dynamic Light (medium) with 2x AA. The game is playable, but during heavy action the framerate dips to about 30-40. This began to annoy me so I decided to swtich everything to medium, turn off AA, and drop the resolution to 1024X768@70Hz, and to my surprise the framerate didnt improve at all. In fact, during heavy action it dipped to about 27-30fps.
Nothing is overheating. Left Speedfan open and my graphics card never goes over 44 degrees. Have all the latest drivers fro ATi and nforce. Dont have Vsync on, and AGP fastwrite is disabled. Even messed around with the AGP aperature, set on 256 now. Anyone else ever have this happen? I ran 3dMark05 and at 1024x768 I got 5,812 marks. When I ran it at 1280x1024 I got 4,799. So at least that made sense.
Specs:
AMD64 3200+Clawhammer
1gb PC3200
ATI X800XT AIW
DFI Lanparty UT nf3 250g
Antec NeoHE 500W
