Gulf of Oman sweetspot for hitting ground targets with Essex (pic)

After screwing around in many games, I have finally found the right spot on Oman to hit ground targets with the USS Essex. Here is the picture(click to zoom):





Please note that the exact spot isn't right where the point of the crosshair sits. It is actually the horizontal bar from the crosshair that is the sweet spot. Keeping that bar level with the "distance icon" on any Beach CP visible from the Essex well ensure that your shots compensate for bullet drop and hit at ground level. You must also use bursts and keep the crosshair stationary when you begin shooting.

Yes. I got several kills and assists doing this. It's hilarious when people start doing vote kicks because they think you've got an aimbot ROTFL.

What would be even better is someone on your team spotting where the rounds fall, and then also directing your fire.

The problem I see is that the beach CP are barely within of your radar or even out of bounds. I would try this but only if I were sure no buddies of mine would eat my bullets...

I did end up hitting some teammates too doing this. The best time to shoot at the beach CPs is when MEC is trying to take it. You will always hit someone then.

Nice, will it work on Dalian plant too?

Have you ever sent random missiles off too? Do they have the range to randomly kill the enemy helis?

The problem I see is that the beach CP are barely within of your radar or even out of bounds.

You can briefly open the map to see location of long range friendlies. Or set the transparacy and play with it on all the time.

This can be done on Dalian as well, the beach is well within reach of the essex gun.

i remember first seeing this..i was sniper going to the tree area and i see these tracer bullets and explosions and im like hOLY #@&% what the heck? and i recongized the sounds from the essex cannon..totally awesome
