    Horrible stutter - online only

Hi all, been playing BF42 for a while now and finally decided to give BF2 a shot, mainly for the multiplayer. However whenever i connect to any server i get terrible choppy/stuttery gameplay every few seconds and i know for a fact that the problem is not lag - am constantly pinging at under 30ms.

    System specs:
    -2.3ghz processor
    -1.5GB RAM
-ATI X800 Pro 256MB Graphics card

I've tried updating drivers, changing video settings, updating punkbuster etc. but nothing seems to have worked. I also saw on another thread that changing AGP aperture settings in the BIOS can help, but could not find an option to change my own when i loaded BIOS on start-up.

Anyone know what the problem is and how to fix it?

    Thanks a lot

I've tried to turn the AGP aperture up in BIOS...but couldn't find an option to do this :hmm: (i hit delete as comp was booting up and the only graphics option i could change was whether i wanted to use PCI or AGP).

Is there another way to change aperture or am I doing something totally wrong here? I'm not too experienced with this kinda thing

            Thanks again

When you enter your Bios, try hitting Ctrl+F1. Some bios's require you to do this to see the advanced chipset menu.

I had to reinstall whole BF2 in order to get rid of stuttering.

Anyone know how to change AGP Aperture size in Bios if there is no option for it? I've tried Ctrl-F1 with no success.

If it helps i have Phoenix bios 6.

                        Thanks again

I saw this on another forum

And for hou can't find the setting in the bios, probably you have a Phoenix bios, witch hasn't got any options for that (you'll need a windows bios tweaker).

Have you ttied playing with your firewall switched off?

Even if I disable my firewall I get stuttering but works fine once I turn it off.
