Bf2 Desktoped after patch install

I'm not sure if this is where I post this but here I go. I just got Bf2 and installed it. The game worked fine (but sometimes got desktoped, then I installed the 1.12 patch (had some issues for about 5 hours where I could not even load the game, but manualy installed it correctly after reading a bunch of forums I beleive) Anyway When I start BF2 now (With 1.12 patch), I get into the menues and I get all the way up to where the "map loads up half way" (In single mode & Online Mode) and I get desktoped everytime.

Does anyone know what this issue can be? I also just installed the latest Nvidia drivers and updated my Nforce 2 drivers. Here are my specs (Im in the middle of rebuilding a new computer, I know my set up is pushing it a bit, but it used to play around low to medium settings before I had patch installed)

Athlon xp3200
1 gig Geil value ram 3200

Try if changing the Pagefile in Windows to 2GB helps.

In Control Panel - System - Advanced tab - Performance -Settings - Advanced - Virtual memory - Change - Custom size : 2048 - Set

I tried that and it still desktops while its loading the map menu. It happens at every map the sam eplace. About half way.

This one hit me a couple of times when I did my last hardware upgrade, I can only tell you what worked for me, for me it was a sound card issue.

What I did to narrow it down was turn off/down everything (ergo turn your resolution down to 800x600, turn off your EAX support (this was my issue), turn off hardware sound, turn off AA, etc, etc), then once it starts working just start turning things back on gradually, by process of elimination you should be able to find the culprit. Good luck, this one pi**ed me off for awhile.

I just tried that, and still the same thing thanks though. It seems to cut out everytime gemotries tris to load when it loads map. I am thinking it has something to do with the patch I installed and maybe a driver issue with nvidia? Or maybe my ac 97, but i just updaed my nforce 32 drivers. It loaded up fine before but after I Installed the new patch thats where it got messed. Maybe I should try to load up an older driver set. Anyway I'm gona keep on trying.
