    Told to shut up!

Ive checked most of the forums and cant find any topic on this matter and im sorry if this has already been covered.

I was playing on Karkand the other day as squad leader had 4 members in my squad, i was spotting, communicating with commander and my squad then out of the blue i was unable to do any of this and when i tried to ie via th "q" button or the "t" button it kept saying get of this net in the voice of the commander? What the hell happened? it had a timer on this which counted down to 0 then i was able to talk again, then carried on some more and it happened again, it has only done this 1 time but am curious to know why this occured as i was playing good at the time and in a winning position?.....tnx

You were spotting too much. This can get annoying and the amount you can do it is limited to stop everyone from spamming the radio.

Yep, when you say one of something or a lot of anything at once, it stops you from saying anything else for 30 seconds. You can still type. It's just a way of avoiding spam.

            Re: Told to shut up!

I was on Karkand yesterday and there was a guy that simply would not shut up. He'd spot infantry then spam it 7 or 8 times finally I had to turn my sound all the way down.

As a rule, when I'm playing a sniper I spot for the commander. I report 1 time for infantry in an area if I think someone doesn't know they are there. This allows the commander to use the uav to get better intel. Repeatedly "spotting" the same type of unit in the same area really doesn't accomplish anything but causing needless distractions. If you see a sniper then spot him. A tank is ok to spot a few times if it's moving so we can see on the map what direction it's heading.

            Just some guidelines I use.

Back in the day when it was quite funny to spot in a chopper on Karkand. Cos people were new to the maps, panic would soon set in, thinking there was a Blackhawk coming to rip everyone apart.

If I see a group of infantry I will try to spot each one once as it adds emphasis and they appear on everyones overhead map... But I refrain from spotting the same guy multiple times (unless it is a tank that is shooting at me, in that case I might get a bit twitchy... ).

Ok Spammy Davis Jr.....J/K It's fun playing commander, but in reality, I only give positions of the enemies if they are within control point distance. One time I spotted a guy that was hiding on a hill, and a whole squad when up to get him. All 6 got owned by 2 handgrenades, it was funny. I see the squad on the UAV, next thing you know only the red dot is left...
That is when I decided I am better off dropping arty on one guy than losing 6 tickets
                          :)

Haha, my friends and I have a similar joke where we spot enemy boats on Karkand.

Try just spotting one guy the whole game, he may end up getting owned hardcore and end up with some sort of complex, "why is everyone picking on me"
