Cannot play online (crash)

I used to be able to play online just fine on BF2 but now, when I try to play online in BF2 and mods for it it just chrashs to my desktop when I click the join server button. I have alrdy tried updating PB but it was alrdy up to date. I can play single player just fine. I have recently formated my 1 hardrive on my computer and have reinstlalled BF2 and installed all of the patchs for it.

When I go to the multiplayer tab for any mod for BF2 or just Vanilla BF2 and select a server and click the join server button I get a CTD.

Right after clicking on a server could be a case where the game has lost your cd-key (but normally it just tries to load a map, fails and drops you back to the browser).

\\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\Support

Use the Battlefield2_code.exe file to reenter your cdkey. MAke sure you have the key before you run the program as it'll erase the existing one before you even begin the reenter it.

Yeah, forgot that you need to encrypt the cdkey once youv've entered it again :)
