My team running over my mines then punish me....

I think EA should take a look at teammates running over their own team AT mines and punishing for it. In fact, I think the people that run over their own teams mines should be punished. You just took some offense away from an Engineer teammate of yours and then you punish on top of it. Maybe EA should make the skull and cross bones bigger. I don't play engineer much anymore because of it. Seems like people do it on purpose though. OK I feel much better now TANKS for the theropy time. GAME ON!!!!!!!!!

      I totally agree.

I don't lay claymores anymore, nor AT Mines when i rarely got engineer. Too many people punisher when they happily walk over them :/

Now, if I went up to a teammate and knifed them then yeah I deserve a teamkill - but people punish regardless, I find. It frustrates me!

I hope EA remove the punish tool altogether. Simply have -2 for the teamkill and thats it. Imagine a humvee of your teammates running over your mine. 4x -2 points, then they all punish, so add 4x -4 points :/

I've heard a rumor that Dice is looking at putting IFF (Identify Friend or Foe) mines in with the next patch. This would mean that you could run over friendly mines without having them explode.

It's a little unrealistic (not really, tho. They are working on the technology to do this for real) and has some impact on stratagy, but I honestly can't see a better way of dealing with this obvious problem.

Occasionally, If im bored and I see some idiot who placed a mine/claymore in a place they blatently shouldnt have (IE- on one of the bridges in wake when a friendly take is trying to cross. or a claymore at friendly flags right on top of spawn areas) I will typically walk into the claymore/drive over the mine and then punish them. Idiots.

              Congrats.
That's a fundamentally retarded thing to do.

                Not really.

I do it mostly to save the armor and stuff thats wanting to cross the bridge/exit. and i generally dislike snipers so thats just kind of the fun half of it.

A grenade will do the trick nicely against mines.

Sorry, but this is a personal sore spot. I recall a round on 64 player Kark (on MEC side) where I had desided to do some basic mine defence to save our island. I very carefully laid out my mines as to maximize the chances of the enemy hitting 'em, but still leaving room for our armour to roll out.

                  So what happens?

3 times in a row some MORON does exactly what you discribe. He rolls up to the mines, stops, obvious sees them, then drives into them. 3 fruggin times!! THEN he puts "STOP BLOCKING THE ENTRANCES NOOB!" into team chat.
                  FFS.
My reply ended up with me being kicked from the server for language.

Punish for claymores and AT-mines should be taken away, I mean, it's not like people place them just to TK, and if they do, they get (almost always) kicked after 3 TKs. Wonder why DICE haven't considered this...

                      That should be obvious.
Because if you could TK with them without any penalty, it would rapidly become uber-abused by griefers. You'd soon see people mining/claymoring the crap outta their own spawn points and vehicles. They'f just toss a 'nade in to set off mines.

                      Gotta think about these things.

Agreed! It is pointless and stupid.

The IFF is a good idea, I also like the idea of punishing your own team mate who set them off a wee -2 for looking where there going. If they are totally blocking you in, blow the mines up! Though check for ways through, mines are great defense when used right.

I used to be engy all the time in BFV (mainly for the c4 hehe) and now its just imposible with some fools in a public server that has punish on because of the stupidity. One of the few times i had mines on a kark bridge and i asked the guy to go around to the water since the USA side sent hummers acrossed the bridge like clock work and the tanks just kept repairing the bridge and i stood right in the way of a BTR and typed "I have mines on the bridge, please use the south exit" as a hummer decided to use that south entrance from the west side which the BTR could have gone after so what happens? The BTR decides to back up as if the driver was gonna turn but instead just runs me down and hits the mines. Just stupid. Utterly stupid and counter productive. And instead of a hummer taking the bridge the next thing to come along was an abrams. When i saw that alt+f4 had a double date with my left thumb and index finger.

Just give them a different icon, too many times I seen an entire column of vehicles stop because of some c4 on a bridge (the lead tank thinking it's mines) and too many times I've seen guys run right over mines thinking they were only c4.

Yeah, it's annoying. But, you can't have everything your way. Stupid people play BF2. Putting down mines takes a stragetic person if you don't want people to punish. Put the mines somewhere where you know that the enemy is more likely to run over them than your own team.
