virus + spyware

I caught a virus a few days ago and mcaffe automatically deleted it. now though there are at least 2 blinking icons in my bottom right toolbar of my desktop, warning me that system performance has slowed down, virus detected, malware/spyware detected etc. it says click here and it comes up with ie to a site trying to get me to use a spyware removal software. im also getting pop ups even when im not browsing, and its getting a real problem as some are porn pop ups and my sister also uses this computer.
I've scanned for viruses with mcaffe, scanned for spyware with zone alarm pro and ad-aware se pro, cleaned errors on the registry, and even used system restore to put back my pc to 3 days before I caught the virus. After all this I still get the problems i've stated above, so can anyone help?

Control alt delete, look at all processes running, open a google window and look up every process you see by typing what you see on screen. You no doubt have some sort of spyware loaded "mywebsearch" "gator" something like that.

It is a long process but it is really the only way to figure this out if Mcafee and other spyware programs are not catching it.

You will see a lot of svhost.exe, those you won't be able to find what they are for, because many programs use it.

exact thing happened to me with spyware over aim, and i was the fool to download it =P. Try Microsoft Anti-Spyware beta from HERE works really well

same thing with me my sister uses this computer and everyone thought i was using porn and i was like WTF?!?!

you need a legit copy of XP or whatever you have to download it

WebRoot Spy Sweeper is the only scanner I have found that will fully completely get rid of this malware. You can download the free trial version at the link I have provided. Even after your pc is clean you may be unfortunate enough to still have the desktop image that says your pc is infected...just boot into safe mode and find the file desktop.htm and delete it. Good luck...lol

i use symantec anti virus(picks up adware and spyware)..very nice..and microsoft antispyware is also nice
