"Patching Failed"

I need help guys.
I got Bf2 before 3 days and I also got SF The following day but I cant install any patch.I have tried so many times but I couldnt do anything.Somehow Yesterday while I was trying different ways , I installed SF in Safe mod with a strange way but I cant install Patch v.1.12 cause it says patching failed.
When I open the game I see that I have v.1.1.254.. something like that but when I try to refresh list I cant find any server that I can join.If I try servers with different version it says you dont have the right version for this server.
Please Help me on how to install the patch.

I got this method from and EA engineer. You should not have to go to this trouble but it works. I think we all (including EA) that the next patch need to install diff.
Anyway, uninstall BF2, Virus protection, and spyware. Before rebooting go to your "My Documents" folder and delete the Battlefield2 folder then go to the %temp% folder and delete everything in there. You can do this by chosing "Run" from the start menu and running %temp%. Then delete the EA folder under "Program Files"
Reboot to safe mode.
In safe mode install BF2, it will ask you to reboot, do so but boot back to safe mode.
Install the 1.12 patch.
BF2 should play now.

Well I have tried all of these I think and It didnt work.I just installed SF that way but I couldnt install 1.12.I did that with the temp thing and nothing.
My BF2 Works now as version 1.1.2554 something like that.I am sure for
v.1.1.2 not for the rest numbers.Please help me.I dont know what else to do.

Do you have enough disk space? And you don't need to be in safe mode. Are ALL your unneccesary programs off? Is EVERYTHING updated?

I have a lot hard drive space.I Think everything works fine and I recently got a good graphic card 6800GT 256 AGP so I think it should be working.
I would like to hear from many people and advice me please.

I think my pc can play great with the game.
CPU 3.2G
Ram 1024 -- 400
Graphic card AGP 6800GT 256MB
Sound Card Audigy 2

Please help me on how to install Patch v.1.12

Search for it.

It's either 'patchlog.txt' or 'patchlog.err', can't remember which.

this is probably the most stupit responce you will ever read, but here we go anyways! I used to have the same problem with the patching failed ****, I tried everything, but nothen worked. So I tryed to keep my (computer) mouse still. Since I didn't want the computer go to sleep mode. I did that, and it worked. It might not work 2 tries, but on the 3rd try, you might get it down. And If it still screwes up, put your BF2SF (1st disc) in and follow these steps ----> start> run> then type "D:"> click on the "patch" folder> then you should see a "BF2 Patch" application. That should reinstall v1.1. Once you reinstalled v1.1, install 1.12 and remember, DONT MOVE THAT MOUSE!

I also tried it at a friend's pc and it didnt work.
