how about making the spawns out of bounds for the enemy so if they went in there they died, prevents spawn camping .

What would be awesome is that if somehow the bases moved around on the map - so you were never really sure where the main base was...although - commander mode eliminates this...bah.

What if you were able to make the perma spawn outside the boundary for the opposite team? This would eliminate camping....but not stealing vehicles. Make it so that after like 1-2 mins of being in the base you start taking damage like going off the map. You could still go in and blow up assets - or keep the assets near the border - or get in there and steal a jet or tank, etc....but all the fighting would take place out in the map.

It would suck in the fact that respawning would take a bit to get back out into battle - but would make you work that much more at staying alive to stay in the fight.

I don't think this is an awesome solution or anything, just something I thought might work to eliminate all the perma spawn raping complaints.

It would help if each team had 1 mobile spawn, ala BFV.

CTF....I think I would p*ss myself if they came out with CTF mode. I f'ing love CTF. The only base-camping that is really done is to open a route for the flag taker, and to cover their escape.

Damn that was so much fun in DC.

No CTF was the biggest let down of BF2 IMHO.

What was the desert map in DC that had a large mountain in the center of the map ?

Maybe take a leaf out of the ElAlamein [BDS] map (sorry dont have the link atm) that someone made for example. The main bases are huge with multiple spawn points and a paradrop spawn if things get armour intensive. As i remember they had fixed AA from the USSEssex guns fixed on the ground which would sort a lot of spawn raping out.

Interesting how Dice seems to have gotten you all to believe that spawn camping is an unsolvable problem.

                It's not.

The most simple solution is to have more spawn points scattered around. Some in protected areas, some in quick access places, some in the open. This would mean that anyone who tried to camp would have a much harder time since they can't count on people spawning in predictable locations.

Even better would be to script up some "smart spawning" that doesn't just drop you in randomly. There could be built in logic to spawn you at the location farthest from local badguys, or outside a fixed radius.

I also love the idea of an airdrop vs uncappable base map. Again, spawns would have to be scattered to avoid camping, tho.

Try to think beyond what Dice has shown us so far.

I would love it if they made this, or CTF, both are extremely fun, plus if they added automated guns to kill enemies trying to spawn camp would stop the problem of spawn camping.

Camping and lots of it. The flags are there for a reason

I think its because they wanted to keep the whole squad thing as big as possible. With this idea os Wargimps, yes it would be fun but there are a few probs.

                      1. No one would goin squads as their use is now alot more limited in jus all out .
                      2. Can you imagive the points a commander would rack up? just using art on everyone? etc.

Thats all i can think of, but it would be a gerat change and alot of fun. It would be alot more like an Unreal Tournament game.

Ah... you're making assumptions on how the map would be laid out.
The way I'm thinking about it, squads would be MORE important since SLs would be the only viable non-home spawns avalible.

Since I'm blue skying here, it would also be very easy to make these maps without artillery... or UAVs... or Scans.

                        Think outside the box.

Yeah this sounds like a good idea. It gives more of the image with a battlefield. Two forces just battling it out in one open area. This is a must improovement.

Ah touche, now that i didnt think of. Yes, Sl would become very vluable to teams, especially if there were long hikes between the uncappable bases. Very very good :P well this does sound excreamly tempting :) lol

I didn't say just open fields...

This same idea could be applied to house to house fighting maps, craigy rocky maps, navel maps, or even entierly enclosed maps. I've given some thought to how cool it could be to roughly model a shopping mall, for example.

Also note, these maps would NEVER be accepted for ranked play. I'm only thinking about the idea as strictly unranked, just for fun game play.

Meh, to hell with bases.. here is my idea.

Just map a town, with several spawnpoinst for each side, these spawnpoints would be.. a fair height up in the air. So when people spawn, they can float down ontop of buildings, granting them an automatic defence advantage. Because of the buildings obstructing view, spawncamping would be pretty rare.

Below the spawnpoints there are vehicles, anyone can get in these vehicles, they are pretty high up, so you have to haul ass and jump off the buildings (apc's and jeeps dont take much damage from falling down ontop of their wheels iirc).

Team deathmatch without possibility of being really stuck and spawncamped.
