    Virus software

I'm just wondering if I could turn off F-Secure (my virussoftware and firewall) for the time I'm playing? Will my computer get contaminated right away as I turn them off? I have the newest updates of WinXP thou.

Would want to do this because F-Secure takes up a lot of RAM I think. So would it even free up RAM by disabling this virussoftware/firewall but enabling only the WinXP's own firewall and use no virussoftware for the time I play.

Would not harm a bit, since BF2 doesn't (i hope) download trojans to your computer. As long as you are not browsing risky sites while playings you will be fine.

Different people will probably tell you different things.

I always play without an antivirus for the same reason as you listed. I don't see how you could get a virus by just being connected to a BF2 server as long as XP is patched and you have a firewall up.
