    Joystick for heli and plane

Does anyone know of any JS for flying heli and plane? Mine apparently doesnt work for heli becos of its low sensitivity.

    Appreciate your comments.

Ramp up the sensitivity in game.
Better yet, don't fly choppers with the joystick.
Planes, yes, choppers, no. The mouse is actually much better for heliflying.

Keyboard and Mouse are the BEST for choppers, unless you're exceptionally skilled with the joystick. I personally have my sensitivity (and yaw/pitch) set to 2.00 for helicopters.

As for jets, I use the Logitech Extreme 3D Pro. Back when I used kb/mouse (trust me, a joystick is worth it), I had sensitivity set to 25, with yaw/pitch at 15.

            Maybe I'm crazy but...

Ever since I started playing FPS games (Unreal, HL, UT, MoH, CoD, CS, etc) I used the combo Joystick & Mouse. Crazy as it may be, I'm now used to it and I cannot help but smile when I see the numb/amazed/shocked look of some of my buddies during Lan parties.

I use plain old MS Sidewinder Precision Pro (no force FB). he only thing I had to get used to is that they are molded for righthanded use. And I'm righthanded. No problem you think? Yes there is... I started using Joy & Mouse when the basic Sidewinder was for both left & right handed use. I use the joystick in lefthand for movements (forward/backward & strafe) plus all crouch/prone/jump function with the button. Now I'm use to handle a right handed joy in left hand.

I put the commo channel on left/right POV hat, run/afterburned and flare/smoke on up/down POV hat. And I use the mouse for the usual aim/fire/alt fire/use function plus voice comms on 4th & 5th button (BF2 & TeamSpeak). This way, be it for walking around, driving, piloting a boat, I use Mouse & Joystick never using keyboard apart from chat functions and when I need real precision (Helo & Plane), I just use my right hand on the joystick (now all prone/jump/crouch buttons are weapons selection & fire) while my left hand is used for the throttle and other buttons equivalent to the F9 to F11 functions (to chekc where my bombs landed and check wether I'm tailed)

That's why I wrote that maybe I'm crazy. Maybe I am but I think that I am at least an average player and not a complete wreck (http://bf2s.com/player/43593204/) so that combination can be a good one if you know how to use it. But it take practice. A lot of.

I have a Playstation 2 joypad set up with GTA style controls for jets and helis. I use a USB adapter and find the analogue sticks work fine.

Thanks to my time in playing GTA it's second nature to me. But I can't find a way to setup mouse look without the mouse, and you need it for the blackhawk, so I use mouse + keyboard

                Silly question but...
But you write you "need mouselook" for the blackhawk. Why?
Maybe I'm dumb to the point I missed something really important but I managed to fly somewhat properly and doing a good job as the Nap-Of-The-Earth-Looney-Battletaxi-Driver up to this point withtout it.

I sincerely ask you what would be the use of mouselook? I tried to use it once and was stuck in mouselook mode and crashed my fully loaded BH. Fortunately my passengers saw how I flew before and were not voting/ranting at me for this (I said "Ooops Sorry dudes, crappy mouse look" at once).

I know that sometimes I would love to look sideways while flying sideways but I compensate for this by having a good idea of where I am, where I'm going and what are the obstacles the way I go. So I rely more on situational awareness and my crew spotting enemies for me than on using mouselook.

But truly, tell me how it could enhance my playing. I'm more than interested. (bear in mind that the looney pilot that I am has a joystick in his left hand and a 5 button mouse in the right one)
